     Fun September Pack Meeting!

             September 23, 2010   6:30 PM

              St. Paul's Lutheran Church

Please join us for our first pack meeting of the 2010 - 2011 school year.  If you are considering cub scouts for your child, you are welcome to join us to get information and an application.  We plan to have a fun meeting, with carnival games followed by a brief flag ceremony and an introduction to the key members of our pack.


 

 

Fall Camping At Fort Mifflin!

 

Who:  Pack 216 Scouts and Families

What:  Fun, educational camping event at

“Fort Mifflin on the Delaware”

When:  Sept 10 4:00 PM – Sept 11 4:00 PM

Where:  Fort Mifflin & Hog Island Roads  Philadelphia, PA 19153  (215.685.4167)

Details:

Cost:      $26 per person for Camping, Breakfast and Ghost Tour

Food:   Bring your own food for the dinner hour.  Plan to eat in Den groups.  Select any location on the site!  Hot breakfast will be provided:   pancakes, sausage, hot & cold cereal, milk, juice, & hot beverages

There are many sleeping options available:

  • Designated historic buildings: Enlisted Barracks, Officers Quarters, or  Casemates.  Most buildings are heated and air conditioned (except the Casemates) and most have working fireplaces in them (except the Officer Quarters.)
  • Pitch a tent and sleep under the star in the Parade Ground, Parapet, or near Blacksmith shop, Arsenal or Artillery Shed.

Bathroom facilities for boys and girls are located inside the fort (showers are not available.)


Activities

  • Spend the night in a fort and exploring the walls, rooms and casemates for an exciting, hands-on experience.
  • Gather around the fireplace in the Enlisted Quarters at night
  • Smores!
  • Guided Tour of the Fort by one of our Uniformed Interpretive Guides (choose a Revolutionary or Civil War theme)
  • Uniform and weapons demonstration
  • Boys can stage their own battle with wooden rifles
  • Plenty of free time to roam the Fort and extensive grounds.
  • Scavenger hunt
  • Visit Gift Shop

7th Annual RUN FOR SCOUTING

September 19, 2010

Join us for food, fun, and fellowship as we celebrate 100 years of Scouting!  This event is open to everyone, so bring the family, neighbors, and community friends!  Race course is dog and stroller friendly.

Race day registration begins at 11:30am; the 1-mile run/walk takes off at 12:45pm, followed by the 5K run/walk at 1:30pm.  The event will occur rain or shine.

Fees for the Run for Scouting are as follows:

1-mile:

Pre-registration - $8 (age 5 & under free – No t-shirt)

Race day - $10 (age 5 & under free – No t-shirt)

5K:

Pre-registration– Adults: $15  Youth: $10 (18 & under)

Race day– Adults: $20  Youth: $15 (18 & under)

General Cub Pack 216 Information


We are a dynamic friendly group that includes families from Lionville Elementary, Shamona Creek Elementary, Pickering Elementary, The Montgomery School, Collegium Charter School, and Homeschoolers.  Students from any school are welcome!  Our den leaders create a fun learning environment for cub scouts in the true scout spirit of friendship, service to others, and community stewardship.  Please join us!

T-shirts:  $10
  • Bright aqua blue with small pack logo on front and large cub scout logo with "DO YOUR BEST" in yellow on the back.
  • These run pretty true to size(maybe even slightly larger).
  • Available in most sizes
Hoodies:  $25
  • Dark blue with pack 216 on the front.  Have a front pocket and fleece inside. Very warm.
  • They run small so order a size big enough to last a while.  Many scouts love to sew their activity patches on them.
